Harris County Sues AG Paxton in an Effort to Block Release of Public Election Records

After many FOIA requests and 21 lawsuits still pending from the 2022 midterm election, Harris County appealed to the attorney general’s office for exceptions. Last month Paxton ruled the exceptions were not valid and ordered the county to release the records within 30 days and now the county is suing Paxton to block the release of records.
